New Feature: View ProsperOps Metrics in CloudForecast Reports
Managing AWS cost commitments like Reserved Instances (RIs) and Savings Plans (SPs) is no easy task. Without automation, teams often spend too much time optimizing and manually adjusting their commitments to get the best savings. We’re excited to announce our new CloudForecast + ProsperOps Integration to make this process more efficient!
This integration brings the power of ProsperOps’ automated RI and SP optimization key metrics into CloudForecast’s Daily Cost Group Reports via email, Slack, and Teams, providing a unified summary of AWS costs and savings. With ESR and monthly savings tracked in one place, staying on top of cost efficiency has never been easier.
Challenges with Reserved Instances and Savings Plans
RIs and SPs can offer significant savings, but they come with their challenges:
- Commitment Complexity – Choosing the right commitment type, term length, and region can be overwhelming.
- Unused or Underutilized Commitments – If workloads change, you might be stuck with commitments that aren’t fully utilized.
- Ongoing Management – AWS doesn’t automatically optimize your commitments for you, so teams need to adjust and track their usage over time manually.
These challenges make manual RI and SP management time-consuming and often inefficient. That’s where ProsperOps comes in.
What is ProsperOps and How It Helps
ProsperOps is an automated commitment management platform that optimizes AWS Reserved Instances and Savings Plans in real-time. Instead of manually tracking and adjusting your commitments, ProsperOps dynamically buys, sells, and exchanges them to ensure you get the best savings possible while keeping your infrastructure flexible. With ProsperOps, teams can:
- Maximize their savings without the operational burden.
- Increase their Effective Savings Rate (ESR) by automatically optimizing commitments.
- Eliminate the risk of overcommitting by continuously adjusting based on actual usage.
CloudForecast + ProsperOps Integration
Our new ProsperOps Integration brings this automation and insight directly into CloudForecast’s Daily Cost Group reports. Here’s how it works:
- We leverage ProsperOps’ new Data Export feature to pull key savings metrics like Effective Savings Rate (ESR) and Monthly Savings.
- Users can add an optional ProsperOps add-on module to their CloudForecast Daily Cost Group reports tracking these metrics alongside their AWS cost data via email, Slack, or Teams.
- A link in the module allows users to jump directly to their ProsperOps dashboard for deeper insights when needed.
Simple Setup – Less Than 5 Minutes
Setting up the integration is fast and easy:
- Enable the ProsperOps Data Export feature.
- Drop the export file into the same S3 bucket that CloudForecast already has access to.
- Confirm the ProsperOps configuration in CloudForecast.
- Activate the “add-on module” in your Daily Cost Group Reports.
- Done! The data will appear in your CloudForecast reports within 24-36 hours!
Check out their blog post or support article for more details on ProsperOps’ Data Export feature.
Conclusion
We’re excited to bring ProsperOps’ automation and optimization insights into CloudForecast, giving teams a unified summary of their AWS costs and savings in one place. With this integration, tracking, optimizing, and maximizing AWS cost savings has never been easier.
It’s another step toward simplifying AWS cost management and ensuring teams have the right tools to stay on top of their cloud spend—all in a single, streamlined view.
